Within this summer school, high school students from GIMNBL, JU TSBL, JU MedSBL and SOSCH (4 students from each Bosnian high school and 3 students from Slovakia with one supervisor from each organization) will come to Czech Republic and perform lab exercises together with students from SPSCH (3-4 students). Before summer school, students will be selected based on their study results, additional activities in chemistry learning (participation in chemistry competitions organized on school, domestic and international levels).
Summer school will start with the formation of three international teams (Bosnian, Slovak and Czech students), to improve students teamwork in international environment, leadership, social skills, foreign language, and soft skills. This summer school will be devoted to chemistry used in cosmetics, food, and pharmaceutical chemistry.
Utilizing practical chemical experiments (production of soap, isolation of flavour compounds, synthesis of pharmaceutically active substances etc.) the students will be introduced to various chemical technologies used in industry.
After completion of experiments, students will fill in questionnaires about performed experiments, organization of summer school, proposals for improvements.
By participating in summer school, students will develop key competences as multilingualism, numerical, scientific, and engineering skills, digital and technology-based competences, interpersonal skills, and the ability to adopt new competences and cultural awareness and expression in accordance with Council Recommendation of 22 May 2018 on key competences for lifelong learning.
